Licences and registrations

Which entity performs which act, in which state, under which authority. We never imply that one licence covers everything.

Supplier comparison is not open in any state yet. We open it one state at a time, and this page describes how it will work then. The free bill check, the cost estimator, the rate tools and the Power Desk work today and do not depend on it.

Facilitating a commercial electricity supply transaction is a regulated act in most competitive states, and the requirement differs by state: broker registration, aggregator certification, consultant registration, or none. A single licence does not cover the country, and no partner licence is an umbrella over an unlicensed party.

These acts are not performed today because supplier comparison is not open. The licensed partner that will perform them is named here, state by state, before comparison opens anywhere.

Per-state register

Every competitive or limited market requires a completed row before a single page offering a comparison goes live. Required fields: approved legal entity, licence or registration number, permitted acts, covered customer classes, covered utility territories, compensation disclosure requirement, record retention duty, complaint route, and counsel review expiry date.

The 31 fully regulated markets are not listed here because no regulated supply-brokerage act occurs in them. Advisory work in those states may still carry its own requirements and is reviewed separately.

Complaints

A person at HAUSE reviews every complaint, with an escalation path to the relevant state regulator if you are not satisfied with the outcome. We count complaints and treat the rate as the leading indicator it is. How to raise a complaint.
