Procurement review
Business electricity quotes
We do not publish quotes. Once a state opens we run a competition: qualified suppliers bid on identical verified facts against one deadline, and you see the result normalised for both cost and contract risk.
A public page cannot show a business electricity quote. Commercial supply pricing depends on utility territory, rate schedule, load shape, peak demand, contract term, start date and credit. A real quote requires a verified account, which is why this page starts with eligibility rather than a price.
How a state opens. Supplier comparison opens in a state only when three things are true there: a licensed partner is in place, the state's rules have been reviewed, and at least five eligible independent supplier parent companies are willing to bid in that territory and load band. This page explains the process and the standard, and it does not take a request that could not be honoured today. The free bill check is the first step in every state, open or not.
Why we will not show you a rate
Every number a supplier can honour is specific to an account. A page-level price is either an average that applies to nobody, or a teaser rate that changes at qualification. Both are common in this category. Neither is useful to a business making a decision worth tens of thousands of dollars.
What we do instead, once a state opens
| Lane | Fits | Process | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| FastQuote | Simple small commercial accounts, single meter | Approved matrix offers from eligible suppliers. We call it a competition only when independent suppliers actually bid. | Same to next business day |
| Managed Bid Room | Multi-meter or material renewal, roughly $2,500–$25,000 monthly spend | Sealed first round, normalisation, one controlled best-and-final round | 3–5 business days |
| Enterprise RFP | Portfolios, multi-state, structured products | Qualification, redlines, indicative pricing, synchronised executable lock | 2–6 weeks |
Before anything else: eligibility
More than half of US states have no competitive retail supply market for general commercial accounts, and some competitive states restrict access by cap or demand threshold. In Texas the answer changes by utility territory within the state. We confirm from the account, never from the address alone.
14 competitive markets
A supply contract can be awarded by eligible accounts.
6 limited
Capped, threshold or program-based. Eligibility checked first.
31 regulated
No supply contract exists to award. We do the other work instead.

What makes a quote conforming
A bid that cannot be compared is not a bid. Before any offer enters the ranking it has to state the same things as every other offer: the price basis and what it includes, every pass-through and how it is calculated, the exclusions, the term, the start date, the usage bandwidth and what happens outside it, the credit conditions, the termination terms, and an expiry time for the offer itself.
Offers that arrive incomplete are rejected and returned, not quietly scored down. That distinction matters: a silently down-ranked incomplete bid teaches a supplier nothing, while a returned one teaches them what this desk requires. Over time that is what produces a bid set that can actually be compared like for like.
Start with the free bill check. It takes three numbers, runs in your browser, and shows how much of your bill a supplier could even touch.
