Accountability
Corrections log
When a published number is found to be wrong we correct it, date the correction, note it on the page, and tell anyone who received the wrong figure in an analysis.
The policy
- The figure is corrected on the page and the page's review date is updated.
- An entry is added to this log with the date, the page, what was wrong and what it is now.
- Any customer who received the incorrect figure in an analysis or proposal is contacted directly.
- If the error came from the calculation engine, the engine version is incremented and the change is noted on the methodology page.
Log
| Date | Page | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-10-31 | The Oncor, CenterPoint Houston, AEP Texas Central, AEP Texas North and Texas-New Mexico Power utility pages | Each named 2024 as the year of the EIA utility sales table that has no row for the utility. The data on the site is the 2025 table, which is the one with no row for it, so the year was wrong. It now says 2025. No price, customer count or other figure changed. |
A short log this early means very little. It becomes meaningful once there is a body of published figures behind it.
